*Bleeding and Finishing Up

1. Fill the reservoir.
Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Place the cap on, but do not tighten it.

2. Bleeding, engine off.
Get in the car and put the key in the ignition. Turn it one notch (to ACC) just to unlock the steering wheel. Slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, then all the way to the left. Do this twice.

3. Check level.
Get out and check the fluid level. You will probably need to add some.

4. More bleeding.
Get back in and slowly turn the wheel lock to lock ten times.

5. Check level.
Get out again and check the fluid level. If you need to add some, do it and repeat steps 4 and 5.

7. Safety inspection.
Check the engine bay over thoroughly. Make sure all the nuts and bolts are tightened, and all the hoses are reconnected. The Manual says the car is to be lowered, but as we are only a few inches off the ground and not up on a lift, we will forego this step.

8. Bleeding, engine on.
Start the car and let it idle for 30 seconds or so. Resume the bleeding, slowly turning the wheel lock to lock 10 times.

9. Check the fluid.
Shut off the ignition. Get out and check the fluid level. Add some if you need to. If you see bubbles, that means there is still air in the fluid and you need to bleed some more, so repeat 8 and 9.

10. Reinstall belly pan.
Slide the front lip under the edge of the grill. Insert the middle bolt and finger tighten. Remember the longer bolts go in the front. Now with the front held in place, insert and finger tighten the rear four bolts. Go back to the front and get the rest of those bolts. Last do the sides. Tighten everything up.

11. Lower the car.
If you’ve removed the jack, put it back in place. Jack up the car enough to remove the jack stands. Remove the jack stands, then lower the car. Make sure there isn’t anything under the car (rags, blocks of wood, tools, etc.).

That’s it! You’re done!
Kick back and drink the rest of the case. You’ve earned it.
